Inset days

We bring breakdancing to you!

We also provide INSET days in schools, which are similar to the teacher training days, but brought directly to you! These days offer your school a completely unique training experience, which will inspire new teaching ideas, providing practical tips and techniques.

Training will be led by breakdance expert and founder of Firefly Associates Andrea Stockburn. She has 12 years teaching experience along with a European breakdance title!

All moves taught are appropriate and achievable, previous experience will help, but is NOT necessary.

INSET days are aimed at those looking to teach breakdance in schools, e.g. dance/P.E. teachers (and/or other dance practitioners if your school can facilitate this). These days provide essential knowledge of appropriate teaching material and creative/performance ideas, promoting quality teaching throughout.

Primary School Days

Covering:

• Appropriate warm-ups - breakdance specific
• Appropriate levels of movement for different Key Stages
• Creative ideas and games
• How to breakdown moves
• Performance ideas
• Move ideas to teach
• Ideas for using breakdance in other areas of the curriculum (kinesthetic learning)

What you will receive:

• A resource pack including typed descriptions of what you have learned during the day
• A certificate of attendance
• A hand out on the history of breakdance and its cultural influences
• A specially made instrumental CD for use in Schools

Secondary School Days

Covering:

• Appropriate warm-ups - breakdance specific
• Creative tasks
• Ideas for performances
• Moves and how to break them down
• Move ideas and building blocks

What you will receive:

• A resource pack including typed descriptions of what you have learned during the day
• A certificate of attendance
• A hand out on the history of breakdance and its cultural influences
• A specially made instrumental CD for use in Schools
